Herzegovina’s rough karstic soil has been cultivated since the Roman times and today offers two autochthonous wines, Žilavka (white) and Blatina (red).
Upon your arrival at Dubrovnik Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to the city centre. Enjoy a guided visit of the old town and visit the main attractions of Dubrovnik. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a meal in the old town (dinner, lunch or snack), before your transfer to Trebinje, where you will check in at a 4-star comfortable hotel.
Start the day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before a guided visit to the city of Trebinje and the open market which is located at the main city square in the shade of magnificent, old sycamore trees, where locals sell vegetables, aromatic herbs, cheese, fruits, and honey. You can taste some of these local products before we go for a visit to famous cellars at the Tvrdoš monastery, a 15th-century Orthodox monastery where you will enjoy a wine tasting of their award-winning wines. After the visit and tasting in Tvrdoš, the tour will take us to the local restaurant near Trebinje for lunch and taste amazing vegetarian and meat meal cooked under the bell iron so-called ”Peka”. To have some rest and private sighting after the meal, there will be some free time in the afternoon. In the evening, we will visit a small family-run winery for a wine tasting before continuing with a tasteful dinner.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart to Stolac, travelling through typical Herzegovinian old villages, combining amazing scenery with authentic local charm. Stolac is one of the most romantic and intriguing destinations hidden from touristic routes. With its old town and the Radimlja Necropolis, a UNESCO protected site; it is certainly one of the most prominent locations of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s rich history. Medieval tombstones with drawings and inscriptions are works of known and unknown artisans. Radimlja reveals as much as it hides: it is an insight into mysterious medieval times of Bosnian kingdom and its duchies.
After Radimlja, we will visit the Zadro winery in the village Domanovići. Vinery Zadro is the winner of Platinum – Best Central & Eastern European white & red wine at Decanter World Wine Awards 2017. You will enjoy a wine tasting while admiring the views of the amazing vineyards. After the wine tasting, we will continue our trip to enjoy a mouthwatering lunch at a local restaurant on Buna river. After the lunch, there will be an interesting guided visit to a Blagaj old Dervish Tekke house founded by Dervishes from the Bektashi order in the 16th century.
In the late afternoon, you will be checked in at a 4-star hotel in the city of Mostar, where the East and West meet, a wonderful place full of contrast. Enjoy a guided visit to the city centre and old town. The evening will be free.
After breakfast, your transfer to Dubrovnik airport is ready to depart. Along the way, there will be a possibility to sightsing, lunch and oysters/wine/olive oil tastings in Ston. It all depends on the time of your departure flight.
PLEASE NOTE: All meals (except breakfasts) include unlimited water and alcoholic/ non-alcoholic beverages in quantity equal to ½ litres of quality local wine, two beers or similar.
All meal options might include meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.
You will be offered a couple of menu choices for every lunch and dinner.
Bottled water will be available during visits, city tour and travels.
