A unique guided tour to enjoy traveling from green forests of Bosnia to white stones of Herzegovina, visiting secret cultural places and spectacular landscapes and biting delicious local food. Herzegovina is known for its Mediterranean climate and scenic landscape perfect to grow most delicious fruits and vegetable, aromatic herb and has perfect conditions for cattle breeding. Because of this Herzegovina is a unique part of our country with most delicious food and drinks. This unique food tour is a route where you will try the best quality autochthonous Herzegovinian wine, varieties of local cheeses, olive oil, sundried tomatoes, figs desserts, best domestic wine, fresh trout, smoked meat. We will show you an insight of productions where you will be able to talk to producers and share all secrets of production. We will combine this food tour with most interesting places in this region such as stunning National park "Sutjeska" surrounded by the only rainforest in Europe, Bileća lake, picturesque historical parts of Trebinje and Stolac, antique Illyrian city and UNESCO protected heritage of stećak tombstones Radimlja.
Day 1: Your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel front desk and drive along mountains roads enjoying gorgeous landscapes and nature. We will visit the historical building of Orthodox Seminary in Foca, set amongst green hills and taste traditional homemade products, rakija and honey produced by divines. Further you will be wowed by the impressive nature of the oldest national park of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Sutjeska National Park, which is home for the last jungle in Europe. After tasting authentic delicious roasted lamb we will move to the lovely countryside in Gacko and visit local farmhouse to taste homemade traditional cheese and kajmak in sack. On our way to Trebinje, you’ll be taking the scenic route through East Herzegovina, a natural paradise of mountains, forests and stones, as well as a large Bileca lake. After short relax at the hotel, the dinner will be served in a family‐run winery offering a choice of rakija, wines and rich traditional Herzegovinian dishes.
Day 2: After a rich breakfast we will visit the local market situated at the main city square In the shade of magnificent, old sycamore trees, where locals sell herbs, cheese, fruits, and honey. We will tour to the famous monumental Arslanagica bridge and after that, we will make our way to visit to a unique wine producer and taste their wares served with delicious home-made Herzegovinian cheese and prosciutto. On our way to Stolac, you’ll be treated to an off-road tour through typical Herzegovinian old villages, combining amazing scenery with authentic local charm. Stolac is one of the most romantic and fantastic destinations hidden from touristic routes, where you will discover a historical old city and the natural and architectural ensemble of the river Bregava with flour mills, fulling mills, and bridges. After a tasting lunch in the mansion´s restaurant paired with the local wines and digestives, we will explore a fabulous old castle, mysterious ancient Illyrian city Daorson, and UNESCO heritage protected site of stecak tombstones Radimlja. For dinner, this evening prepare yourself to taste delicious and exotic Herzegovinian dishes from fresh trout, frog, and eel - a fitting final before your transfer back to Sarajevo.
