Discover Sarajevo and its tastes during 4-hours walking food tour, dedicated to small groups and private sighting. While exploring and learning about the main cultural and historical sites of the core of Sarajevo, you will enjoy Bosnian food and try more than 14 authentic specialties of traditional cuisine. You will also learn recipes on how to prepare some of them. Experience gastronomic delights as locals do, in places away from the tourist rush: City Market, buregdžinica, aščinica, and kafana. You will complete your experience by interacting with artisans of cheese, cured meat, Bosnian pies, cooked meals and homemade brandy.
Greet your guide at the entrance of Tržnica, the indoor city market where locals buy fresh food produced in untouched nature, on the countryside with plenty of clean air and healthy spring water. Immerse yourself in the world of delicious cheeses, unforgettable tastes of cured and smoked meat and other products prepared by centuries-old recipes. Feel the rhythm of the city as you discover the stories behind the cultural, historical and social sites of the city's core: City Market, Liberation square, Orthodox church, medieval tombs, Obala Kulina Bana Street, National Theatre, Tito's Street, Eternal Flame, Markale, Cathedral, Jewish Quarter, Gazi Husrev Bey's Mosque, Baščaršija, Sebilj.
Learn how Bosnian pie (pita) is made and try some in a buregdžinica where Sarajevans eat. As you walk along Tito's street and Obala Kulina Bana street, enjoy the sounds and freshness of Miljacka river and hear back stories about important Sarajevo buildings and monuments. Afterward, reward yourself with some traditional Bosnian dishes and watch it being prepared in aščinica. The tour ends in the heart of Baščaršija, with sips of homemade brandy, juice, and coffee and enjoy the ambiance of a typical Bosnian cafe. Bid your guide and group farewell but feel free to remain in the bar after the tour concludes.
