Trebinje Wine Tasting and Vjetrenica Cave Tour Overview

Tour Duration: full day

Languages: English, German and local

Full day trip from Dubrovnik to Trebinje will be an amazing journey through nature and history of Herzegovina region accompanied with tasting award-winning wines, made with 500 years old tradition.

First, you will visit the famous cellars at Tvrdoš Monastery, a 15th-century Serbian Orthodox monastery producing award-winning wines and enjoy a tasting of four to six wines.
Next, discover a family run winery which has been growing and processing grapes for over a century. Their wines have won numerous awards in regional and international fairs that assess the quality of the fine wine. You will have the opportunity to taste some of their amazing wines.
The tour continues with a visit to a local market in the charming Mediterranean city of Trebinje. The open market is located at the main city square in the shade of magnificent, old sycamore trees, where locals sell vegetables, aromatic herbs, cheese, fruits, and honey.  You can taste some of these local products before we go for a delicious homemade lunch paired with wines, grappa, and liquors at a countryside household.
After the lunch we will travel through typical Herzegovinian old villages, combining amazing scenery with authentic local charm before arriving at Vjetrenica Cave. Largest and most important cave in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a place that resembles the magical world of volcanic tubes and adventures. With its illuminated trails and the underground lake, one thing is certain: a visit to Vjetrenica will make you completely lose your sense of time. Our next stop is medieval monastery Zavala with an invaluable collection of frescoes from the 16th and 17th centuries, an important part of the cultural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
